May 28, 2025

⭐DAY 4 – Tuesday, May 27, 2025: Another day punctuated by visits to healthcare facilities, institutional meetings, and insightful discussions for Tunisian companies supported through the ExPan'AFRICA program.

✅The morning began with a visit to the Idrissa Pouye General Hospital (HGIP), a leading public institution in Senegal, recognized for its centers of excellence in surgery, internal medicine, and emergency medicine. The delegation was able to explore the hospital's organization, its modernization needs, as well as its priorities in terms of biomedical equipment, process digitization, and strengthening medical skills.

The delegation then visited the Dakar Main Hospital to expand on the discussions initiated the day before. This second visit provided an opportunity to explore concrete avenues for partnership. The delegation then met with representatives of the Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency (ARP) for an in-depth discussion on the Senegalese regulatory framework, health product registration processes, and market access conditions for Tunisian companies. Many thanks to the Director General of the ARP and our partner, Dr. Papa Makha Diao, for their availability and the quality of the discussions.

✅The afternoon was devoted to a series of B2B meetings, organized with the support of local partners:

🩺A meeting with Medika Group, a major player in pharmaceutical and medical device distribution and logistics, provided an opportunity to discuss the sector's realities on the ground, traceability challenges, and prospects for supply chain optimization. The discussions revealed several opportunities for logistics and technological collaboration. 🧑‍⚕️The day continued with a meeting at PROCONSMED, the Agency for the Promotion of the Consumption of Local Medical Products, which promotes the development of African production and regional integration. This discussion highlighted the strategic role of pharmaceutical sovereignty in Africa and paved the way for concrete discussions on industrial co-development between Tunisia and Senegal.

✅Finally, to close this day rich in connections, the delegation met with a doctor leading a private clinic project to discuss current needs in terms of infrastructure, equipment, staff training, and innovative solutions adapted to the local context.
